WordPress: “unable to create directory” – uploads folder set to 755 but still can’t upload

Last updated on

If you’ve already set your uploads folder to 755 and you’re still getting “unable to create directory”

  1. Change the upload folders permissions to 777
  2. Upload a test file in WordPress
  3. If it works, make sure to change the uploads folder back to 755 for security reasons.
  4. Upload another test file and it should now work
